Atlantic Princess
Also known as: Atlantic Princess Wreck
The Atlantic Princess was a Caribbean cruise boat that ran aground during Tropical Storm Fay in 2008 and went down in May 2009 in front of the Dreams La Romana resort. Its hull, around 30 m long and 9 m high, rests in shallow water a couple of minutes by boat from Bayahibe. Storms have broken up the upper structure, and Go Dive Bayahibe considers going inside unsafe since the 2016 hurricane season, although Divemaster Austin still swam through the main hold in 2026. Sergeant majors, parrotfish, glassfish inside the hull, nudibranchs and spotted stingrays on the surrounding sand are typical sightings. Because it is so shallow, it also suits discover-scuba divers and snorkelers.
