Johnsons

Also known as: Johnson's

Johnsons lies off Paynes Bay and is described by local dive shops as a typical west coast reef whose corals are still in fine condition. Soft corals and big barrel and tube sponges provide cover for small critters that divers easily overlook while watching for larger fish. Schools of tropical fish gather over the reef, and barracuda, turtles and parrotfish are regular sightings. The reef lies at a fairly constant 21 to 24 m, and its calm, consistent conditions suit photographers, including those after macro subjects.
