Cornwallis

Also known as: Cornwallace

The Cornwallis wreck in Carlisle Bay is linked to a Canadian freighter that was hit by a torpedo from a German U-boat during the Second World War. Its remains lay in a busy anchorage where they kept being damaged by anchors, so they were moved into the marine reserve on 22 October 2000. Now at about 15 ft, the wreck is part of the cluster that divers visit on the Carlisle Bay dive.
