Gruta da Camarinha

Also known as: Buraco da Camarinha · Caverna da Camarinha

Gruta da Camarinha is a fissure in the rock of Ilha de Cabo Frio that divers follow horizontally for 15 to 20 minutes. It has a south entrance at 12 m and an east entrance at 15 m and reaches 35 m. Water flows through the passage quite strongly, especially at the narrower, shallower exit. There is no way to ascend in an emergency, so lights, careful gas planning and overhead or cave certification are required. Local guides count it among the most difficult dives of Arraial do Cabo.
