RMS Scotia

The Scotia was a British paddle steamer of the Cunard Line that won the Blue Riband for the fastest westbound Atlantic crossing in 1863. In 1879 she was rebuilt as a twin-screw cable layer, and she was lost off Guam in March 1904 after 25 years in that role. Most of the ship has broken apart, but large pieces of hull and her steam engine can still be found at around 30 ft beside the breakwater. Many reef fish live among the wreckage, and whitetip and blacktip reef sharks as well as green sea turtles visit the site. Strong currents are possible, and divers are warned not to drift into the shipping channel.
