Coconut Point

Also known as: Coconut

Coconut Point, on the north-western side of the island, juts out into the current, so water moves fast along the reef and can switch direction, which earned it the nickname washing machine. Operators dive it only when tides and weather allow, and only with experienced drift divers. The constant flow keeps the coral reef in excellent condition and draws large fish. Schools of bigeye trevally and other jacks, barracuda and Vlaming's unicornfish are typical, and whitetip reef sharks appear at times.
