Malajibomanoc Island
Also known as: Malajibomanoc
At around 20 metres a hot spring releases a near constant stream of bubbles, which is said to strengthen when nearby Taal volcano is more active. Coral heads, barrel sponges and crinoids grow on the sandy slopes. Parrotfish, groupers, batfish, moray eels and pufferfish are common, and frogfish are often found near the vent. When the current runs, schools of jacks, snappers and fusiliers gather. The name is said to mean chicken feather in Tagalog.
