Giant Staircase

At Giant Staircase a series of coral terraces descends in steps towards the main wall. Small Hope Bay Lodge describes the route as following old streambeds where waterfalls once poured into the sea, before divers ascend again along the terraces. The steps are densely covered with sponges and other invertebrates, and tropical reef fish are plentiful. The site is dived as a multilevel profile rather than a single deep drop.
