Bama Wall

Also known as: Bama · Dinding Bama · Great Wall of Pantar · Don Tupa · Symphony No.9

This near-vertical wall lies in the channel between Pantar and Pura, where tidal flow funnels nutrient-rich water past the reef. The face is covered in hard and soft corals, sea fans and sponges, with anthias, butterflyfish and pygmy seahorses. Napoleon wrasse, bumphead parrotfish, bluefin trevally, snapper, sea snakes and dogtooth tuna are regularly seen, and Divernet heard of a whale shark sighting here. Currents range from mild to occasionally ripping, so looking into the blue can pay off. Air Dive Alor lists several other names for the site, including Don Tupa and Symphony No.9.
