Cu Lao Cham is a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve of eight islands off Hoi An, protected as a marine park with coral reefs and seagrass beds.
Cu Lao Cham Marine Park lies in the South China Sea off Cua Dai Beach near Hoi An, Quang Nam Province, and comprises eight islands, the largest and only inhabited of which is Hon Lao. UNESCO designated the area a Man and the Biosphere Reserve in 2009, which includes roughly 165 hectares of coral reef and 500 hectares of seagrass. Dive sites around the islands are mainly reef dives at depths of about 23 to 32 meters.
