Black Tip Reef

Black Tip Reef opens with very large coral blocks that rise like towers, often ringed by schools of snappers. The route then follows a wall to a broad plateau at about 18 m covered with coral bushes. Rays, including large whiprays resting near the wall, have been met here, and honeycomb morays, cuttlefish and pipefish are found too. Blacktip reef sharks give the site its name and can turn up at around 12 m, though they are not guaranteed.
