Flamingo Wall

The breakwater was built to create the calm Flamingo Beach, and its rock wall drops from a shallow platform of about 3 m to the sand. Schools of bream, grunts, salema, sardines and juvenile barracuda gather in layers along it, and tuna and jacks come in to hunt them. On the white sand below, angel sharks, electric rays and other rays lie half hidden, while moray eels and nudibranchs live on the wall. Dive centres call it one of the richest fish sites of Lanzarote, with good visibility and usually mild current. It is dived from boats and from the shore.
