Native Sea Amami is a dive centre on Amami Oshima, Japan. It guides diving across the northern East China Sea, central East China Sea and northern Pacific areas around the island, with reef, wall, drift, cave and shallow inner-bay sites. Visibility in the open water is often 20m to 30m. The centre works in small teams of around four divers, with a maximum of six, and keeps a dedicated captain on the boat while guides stay with guests underwater. It also offers beach-entry diving in the Pacific side area in winter, half-boat dives for arrival days, and whale watching and whale swim tours for humpback whales from January to March and sperm whales from April to September. The centre runs try dives, snorkeling and license acquisition courses, with step-up training beyond that.
