Eddystone Point Boat Ramp

Also known as: Eddystone Boat Ramp

A chain of granite rocks shields the cove from the swell, which makes it one of the rare spots near Eddystone where less experienced divers can enter safely from the beach. Much of the cove is only about two metres deep, with big kelp, weed and green algae. Striped morwong, wrasse, leatherjackets, sea pike and swimming anemones are common, and towards the mouth the bottom drops to about 10 metres among tall kelp. Because the beach doubles as a boat ramp, divers fly a flag and keep to the bottom when they hear engines.
