Plateau aux Tortues
Also known as: Sea turtle plateau
The Plateau aux Tortues sits in the bay known as La Baie des Pêcheurs on Tahiti's west coast. It looks like a large disc of reef whose steep outer edge drops toward the deep, with gorgonians and black coral. Turtles, blacktip reef sharks, eagle rays and titan triggerfish are common, and the top of the plateau shelters reef fish. Divers can often hear dolphins during the dive.
