Tower

The dive starts at the fossil coral tower that marks the bay and leads straight into a canyon whose walls fall vertically for more than 100 m. Sheltered overhangs in the canyon wall hold glassfish, sweepers and sometimes resting potato groupers. Beyond a large coral head the reef turns into a sloping sandy plateau with pinnacles where nudibranchs, peppered morays and lionfish live. Plankton tends to pool here, so mantas and whale sharks are seen more often than elsewhere in summer. The deep canyon also makes Tower a favourite of freedivers.
