Hinkelsteine

The Hinkelsteine site at road kilometre 16.8 in Steinbach is named after three big boulders. From the entry by a wooden house, divers swim diagonally left for about ten minutes to the first stone at around 17 m. The second lies a little to the right and deeper, and the third and largest rises abruptly from 29 m to 17 m, worth circling at its base. Since 2010 a sign at 10 m marks the first underwater lucky spot of the Salzkammergut, and carved life-size pile-dweller families stand around the first stone.
