Picúa
The site lies out in open water north of Tintipán; Coveñas Diving Co puts the boat ride from the island at about 20 minutes, while a Wannadive entry speaks of roughly 45 minutes. It takes its name from the picúa, the local word for barracuda, which regularly cruise around the fish schools between its isolated coral columns. Jacks, grouper, needlefish, small tuna and turtles are also reported. Weather and current make conditions differ from day to day, and the operator pitches the site at advanced divers.
