Tanjung Tengah
This is the beach reef in front of the Long Beach resorts, entered straight from the fine white sand. A mooring line separates the natural and artificial reef from the boat lane, and depths run from about 3 to 15 m. Because it is easy and free of hazards it is used for snorkelling, discovery dives and day and night beach dives. Coral groupers, snappers and juvenile barracuda are common, baby blacktip sharks are often around and Jenkins whiprays hide under table corals and rocks. Turtles also visit.
