Ngaio Rock

Also known as: Ngoio Reef · Ngoio Rock

Guarding the way into the Labrid Channel, the rock is riddled with nooks, swim-throughs and caves at every depth between the surface and the sand. Deep water is easy to reach, with more than 40 m around the rock and greater depths on its western side. Divers can shelter from channel current in its lee while the current brings food to the encrusting life. Schooling fish, kingfish, snapper, octopus and rays are typical sightings.
