Blue Maomao Arch
Also known as: Blue Maomao Cave
Light falling through gaps in the roof creates the beams that made the arch famous among underwater photographers. Large schools of blue maomao and two-spot demoiselles hang inside, often in such numbers that divers are surrounded by them. The arch is shallow, roughly 8 to 15 m inside and deeper towards its eastern end, which gives long bottom times and makes it a favourite with snorkellers and freedivers as well. A large boulder sits in the middle, and the side walls are rich in hydroids, bryozoans, sponges and anemones. Seafriends describes it as an outstanding night dive.
