Cynthiana
Also known as: Cynthiana Beach
One entry leads from a sheltered rock pool where tall pinnacles rise from 7 m almost to the surface, the other descends a ladder in a small bay with a gently sloping bottom. Beyond lie two large reefs, swim-throughs, gullies, walls and overhangs, and a sandy patch at about 10 m. Shoals of sea bream and saddled bream, ornate and rainbow wrasse, octopus, cuttlefish, trumpetfish and damselfish are common, hermit crabs and cardinalfish live around the pinnacles, and stingrays rest on the sand. Green and loggerhead turtles feed in the area, which PADI's contributor calls an annual territory for several of them.
