Takoiwa Rock
Also known as: タコ岩 (Japanese) · Tako Iwa
The rock forms a U shape that intercepts passing pelagics such as dogtooth tuna and wahoo. In autumn the schools of fusiliers can become so large that divers lose sight of each other, and amberjacks and tuna charge into them. Local shops rank its chances of big fish next to Dobu Iso and report manta and hammerhead encounters several times a year. It is a strong-current site rated for advanced divers.
