Widowmaker's Cave
Also known as: Widow Maker Cave · Widowmakers Cave · Widow Maker
The site takes its name from the James Jones novel Go to the Widowmaker. A narrow cleft in the reef wall forms a winding tunnel full of crevices and cavities, which divers enter at depth and leave by climbing up through a wide chimney. In the tunnel, wire coral shows red polyps in the beam of a torch and the walls are covered in sponges of many colours, with black coral along the sides. Schools of bogas, glassy sweepers and schoolmaster snappers gather inside, together with trumpetfish, hamlets, wrasses and parrotfish. Barracudas are reported in the open water around the site.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
