Passe Bateau Nord

Dives start on the outer slope and end inside the pass once the current turns, which gives a drift along the reef. The first drop-off reaches about 35 m, followed by a sandy step some 50 m wide that slopes to 45 m before a second vertical wall drops to depths reserved for trimix divers. Schools of snappers and oriental sweetlips, jacks, barrel sponges and gorgonians line the wall, while stingrays and garden eels live on the sand. Depending on the season, grey reef, whitetip or hammerhead sharks can appear. The southern passes, including this one, are known for big animals and drift dives.
