Stuka Ju 87

Also known as: Stuka

The aircraft was located with side-scan sonar on an autonomous underwater vehicle during the Malta Shipwreck Survey Project and first filmed with a remotely operated vehicle. It appeared in a National Geographic documentary. It hit the sea at high speed and is badly damaged, but features such as the tail and the canopy are still recognisable. Diving it is a closed-circuit or trimix dive that needs Heritage Malta coordination.
