HMS St Angelo

The tug carried personnel from the Fort St Angelo naval base to warships in Grand Harbour and around Malta, and during the war she was also used for rescues, towing and minesweeping. She sank outside Valletta after hitting a mine. The wreck sits on a silty seabed about 1.5 km off the harbour entrance. Because it lies in the shipping channel the site is considered hazardous except when the harbour is closed.
