Mike's Mountain

Also known as: Mike's Mount

On the far side of a sandy plain, a tunnel of moderate size crosses the coral ridge and opens onto the wall, where a big goliath grouper is sometimes spotted. Little Cayman Beach Resort points out historical artefacts, including a small cannon and several anchors so overgrown that they blend into the reef. Paradise Divers call the wall here a good place for reef sharks, and the drop-off towards Nancy's Cup of Tea usually holds schooling jacks, groupers and chubs. Shallow swim-throughs lead back to the boat, and nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, turtles, queen triggerfish and French angelfish are common.
