Nancy's Cup of Tea

Also known as: Magic Roundabout

The name honours Nancy Sefton, who wrote the field guide Caribbean Reef Invertebrates, and the Department of Environment lists its mooring as Magic Roundabout. Its main feature is a large pinnacle partly attached to the main wall, with its base around 100 ft and its top near 35 to 40 ft. Close to the mooring an opening in the hardpan drops into a tall room behind the spire, where light filtering through the ceiling picks out branches of black coral and rope sponges. Circling the spire afterwards turns up arrow crabs and anemones, with eagle rays, stingrays, sharks and turtles in the blue. A batfish has been recorded here, and jawfish and sand tilefish live in the rubble.
