Récif Sournois
Also known as: Shifty reef
The inner side of the reef is described as a true aquarium, while a drift from the inner to the outer side brings bigger encounters. At the end of the outer drift lie the remains of a very old sailing ship, with a barrel hoop, concreted frames and a large windlass. Noumea Diving reports that the endemic chambered nautilus is sometimes met here in the cool season at only about 11 m. Ultramarina calls it a pretty and much visited drop-off.
