Passe de Uatio

Noumea Diving lists Uatio with Mato and Grotte Merlet as the best-known sites of the southern lagoon beyond Boulari Pass. Its boat visits the outside of the pass on the second day of the Kouaré weekend trip, before the dive at Grotte Merlet. The dives there follow steep outer walls with canyons and gorgonians and are made as drifts. Wannadive describes a deep wall and drift dive with caves, big fish and strong current, suited to experienced divers.
