Lina

Also known as: Lina Wreck · Wreck Lina

Lina was an old cargo steamer that ran aground off Cape Pečen on Cres in a winter storm and sank quickly. The hull, roughly 80 m long, lies on a steep slope with the bow towards the coast and the stern far deeper. Two old admiralty anchors still sit at the bow, and fishing nets hang from the mast. Because the wooden main deck has rotted away, divers look straight into the open holds, and the toppled funnel lying over the cabin can be swum through. A large conger eel often lives at the bow, and a wall and a shallow cave nearby round off the dive.
