Tuare Island
別名: Tuare
Tuare Island is best known for David Doubilet's over-under image of a dugout canoe above lettuce and staghorn corals, published by National Geographic and Alert Diver. Below the shallows, a mucky dark-sand bottom hosts peacock mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, shrimp and bubble shells. DAN reported in 2024 that the shallow coral had become sparse compared with the time of the famous photo. Both cited trips dived it on the same day as nearby Joelle's Reef.
