Valle de los Guacamayos
Also known as: Macaw Valley
Valle de los Guacamayos, the Macaw Valley, starts on an inclined plain of coral and rock with ridges at about 15 m. The plain leads to the foot of a steep wall, and the most interesting part of the dive lies at 30 to 35 m. There the wall is covered in a great variety of sponges, including yellow and branching tube sponges and rope sponges, along with black coral. Queen and French angelfish, cero, barracuda and mutton snapper are among the fish recorded here. The site is marked with mooring buoy 2 of the El Colony dive centre.
