Bandak

Also known as: DS Bandak · M/S Bandak

Bandak is often called the ship that sank twice: after a collision in the Øresund she was raised and repaired, only to be lost for good in a storm at the mouth of the Sognefjord, where nine of her crew died. Because the site is exposed to the weather, the waves have flattened the bow and midship across the bottom. The stern, however, is still in good shape at about 27 m. Nothing was salvaged after the second sinking, and Gulen Dive Resort runs regular trips to the wreck.
