Lundy
Also known as: HMT Lundy · HMS Lundy · Lundy Batığı
Lundy was built in 1908 in Beverley, England, as a steam trawler and was requisitioned for minesweeping in the Dardanelles. While loading ammunition alongside the SS Kalyan in Suvla Bay, it was holed when Kalyan moved off under Turkish artillery fire, and it sank. The wreck rests upright on sand between Büyük Kemikli and Küçük Kemikli and is intact apart from the damaged stern, with bridge, holds and propeller still in place. Sponges in blue, purple and orange cover much of the hull, and octopus, lobsters, conger and moray eels, scorpionfish, groupers and shoals of bream use the wreck as shelter. Divernet reports that the bell and compass have been stolen.
