Franco

Also known as: Kaptan Franco · Captain Frangos · Kaptan Frangos · Captan Francos

Unlike the 1915 wrecks, Franco is a modern ship: a Greek-flagged cargo vessel carrying asphalt raw material that sank after a collision in February 1968. The long hull lies almost whole on its side relatively close to the shore at Havuzlar. Soft red corals and other growth cover the structure, and the park notes that endangered red coral in this area is found only on this wreck. Marine life is abundant, but strong currents and sometimes poor visibility make it a dive for experienced divers.
