HMS Irresistible
Also known as: Irresistible · HMS Irresistable
HMS Irresistible was launched in 1898 and sent to the Dardanelles, where it shelled the Turkish coastal batteries. During the great naval attack of 18 March 1915 it struck one of the mines laid by the minelayer Nusret, was abandoned by its crew and sank. The TINA research team dived the wreck off Dardanos for a documentary, reporting a 130 m hull with propellers and engine room partly salvaged and its 6-inch broadside guns still visible. It is one of the deep wreck sites listed by Gallipoli Wrecks.
