Arnarnesstrýtur
Also known as: Arnarnesstrýtan · Little Strýtan
Unlike the single tall cone of Strýtan, Arnarnesstrýtur is a group of small chimneys spread over a compact underwater hill that sources put at 25 to 30 m across. Fresh water of almost 80 °C flows from the vents, and in places divers can sense its heat; the dive centre often fills a thermos with it for hot chocolate after the dive. DIVE.IS calls the hill probably the most densely packed spot of marine life in Iceland, with many nudibranch species and plenty of other macro life. Wolffish, cod, pollock and lumpfish are seen here, and with a lot of luck a humpback whale. The chimneys lie inside a larger protected underwater area and need precise buoyancy.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
