Punta Pedrera Wreck
Also known as: Hermanos Florit
The fishing boat struck Punta Pedrera in the mid 1990s and now rests tilted on a sandy bottom close to one of Formentera's largest Posidonia meadows. Over the years it has become a small artificial reef where conger and moray eels and groupers shelter, and brown meagre gather inside the hull. Damselfish swarm around the stern, while sponges and algae draw rainbow wrasse and painted combers. Next to the mooring rock an imposing wall runs north to south from about 12 to 25 m and is good for nudibranchs, flatworms and feather stars. Amberjacks and tuna pass by from September onwards.
