Roque de Tacorón
This dive explores a basalt stack next to the Tacorón pools that rises from the seabed and breaks the surface, so divers can see land and sea at once. Lava canyons run from the rock down to a large sand plain at more than 30 m, where garden eels, rays and big groupers live. The route then returns through further canyons to the shallow, sunlit rock, where most of the fish gather. Buceo La Restinga notes occasional encounters with loggerhead turtles here. The site is sheltered by the Mar de las Calmas and usually has no current.
