Punta Restinga
Punta Restinga is a tongue of lava at the end of the island shelf in front of La Restinga, and beyond it the sea floor drops to more than 300 m. From the mooring, reached after a descent of about 11 m, divers cross a flat platform at around 20 m to the edge of a wall that falls below 40 m in places. The wall is cut by caves and crevices where moray eels, lobsters and spiny pufferfish hide. On the way back several canyons lead up to the rocky reef around the mooring buoy. Large groupers, stingrays gliding over the sand, trumpetfish and schools of white trevally and seabream are typical sightings.
