Playa del Cabrón
Also known as: El Cabron Beach
The headland shelters the bay, so the water is usually calm and boats keep out. Divers walk in from the beach and follow a reef of volcanic rock along the left side of the bay, with sand below it, and the beach route itself stays shallow. Dive centres use it for Discover Scuba dives, Open Water training and refreshers, while photographers value its light and the variety of life. Damselfish, bream, parrotfish and wrasse are common, and a closer look reveals lizardfish, pufferfish, razorfish, flounders, juvenile barracuda and cuttlefish. Stingrays and angel sharks are seen on the sand, and in spring predators come into the bay at night to hunt spawning fish.
