Punta de la Monja

Also known as: Punta de la Monia

The dive begins through a hole in the reef shaped like a lift shaft, a vertical descent to about 14 m. From there the route follows the base of the El Cabrón reef with its caves and arches and swims all the way round the point. Small caves and deep recesses shelter glasseye, conger and morays during the day, while big shoals of Atlantic damselfish fill the rocky ledges. The rock entry needs suitable sea conditions, and the length of the route calls for careful air consumption. The dive ends in the calmer water of El Cabrón bay.
