Punta de la Sal
Also known as: The Gorgonia
The route usually starts at the Table Top entry and follows the undersea cliff at 10 to 15 m, where tuna, barracuda, trumpetfish and grouper can be seen in clear water. It passes a garden eel field and a boulder area at about 20 m full of moray eels before reaching the gorgonian field around 30 m. One sea fan there is more than two metres wide, with smaller red and yellow fans around it, and a local centre also mentions gerardia in this deep zone. Angel sharks, marbled electric rays, triggerfish, amberjacks and big shoals of bogue are reported, and over the years even mantas, hammerheads and turtles. Because of depth, length and possible currents it is only offered to experienced divers.
