Le Jardin aux Gorgones

Also known as: The Gorgonian Garden

This isolated shoal, a sec in local terms, lies northeast of Cap l'Abeille. Two rocky peaks form a bowl between them, and the higher one is covered with large red gorgonians from about 25 m. The base of the peaks sits at 28 to 29 m, where coralligenous habitat continues down to 36 m. False coral, Neptune's lace, anthias, scorpionfish and combers live among the gorgonians, and red coral is found here as well.
