Wreck Site (Agincourt Reef)

The site takes its name from a fishing boat that ran aground here more than seventy years ago, although sources differ on how much is left. Poseidon describes the remains of a Taiwanese fishing vessel in the shallows, while Tourism Port Douglas Daintree says only the anchor can still be found. The real draw is the reef: a sandy lagoon littered with imposing 12-metre pinnacles, swim-throughs, caves and ledges covered in hard coral and Christmas tree worms. Moray eels, cuttlefish, crayfish, lionfish, sweetlips, groupers and barramundi cod are reported, and whitetip reef sharks patrol the lagoon.
