Around the Bend (Milln Reef)
Also known as: Round the Bend
Around the Bend is named after the arc the reef forms, which divers follow with the slope on one side. The dive starts down a fixed line to mooring blocks on the sand. The healthy slope rises and falls with sandy channels, small pinnacles and little bommies, covered in hard and soft corals. Nudibranchs, butterflyfish, angelfish and cleaner wrasse are common, and schools of small reef squid gather near the surface. Cairns Dive Adventures notes that the site stays untouched because consistent south-easterly weather keeps most boats away.
