Sirio
The Sirio was carrying emigrants from Genoa to the Americas when it ran onto the summit of Bajo de Fuera, and fishermen from Cabo de Palos rescued hundreds of people. The ship stayed stranded on the reef until 13 August, when its hull broke apart, and its bow and stern now lie on opposite sides of the ridge. Wreckage starts on the northern plateau at around 20 m, with large boilers covered in red sea fans and anemones leading down to the stern section. Many fish move among the remains, and the reef above offers a lively place for decompression stops. Reaching the main parts of the wreck requires deep or technical diving training.
