Sachiko's Point

Also known as: Sachiko Point · Sachiko's

The site is named after a Japanese tour agent and drops from shallow water to at least 40 m, with caves deeper down. Because it is more exposed than the south side, the current is usually running and the fish schools are bigger: red-tooth triggerfish by the thousand, black snapper, trevally and bannerfish. Reef sharks, eagle rays, napoleon wrasse and green turtles are regular, and a group of bumphead parrotfish often feeds on the hard corals. Giant gorgonians and sponges cover the wall, which is especially bright around midday, and the coral garden on top suits snorkellers.
